The Lean Cuisine Diet never worked for me

I have tried many diets in the past, but the one I keep going back to is the Lean Cuisine diet. It's an easy way to lose weight, you just need to eat Lean Cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and with each meal being around 300 calories, you usually eat less than 1000 calories per day, and lose weight pretty quick. I've tried Nutisystem in the past, but the food is so bland and so nasty, I can't keep up with it. I usually stop after two weeks. The good thing about Nutri System is that most of the food doesn't need to be refrigerated. I tried Nutri System three times because my mom lost 90 lbs on it many years ago, and it still seems like a relevant diet... I just can't stomach the food. In all fairness, they do have a new menu, but I haven't tried it. It's likely the same old same old.

Every time I tell people I'm going to try the Lean Cuisine diet, I hear many negative things like "the food is too salty". Sure, it can be, but there is a lot of salt in almost anything we eat. We need to counter the salt by making sure we drink lots of water.

The good thing about the Lean Cuisine Diet is when you are on maintenance you can always eat a Lean Cuisine for one meal to get back on track. Also, the food is relatively tasty for frozen food that you simply microwave. The portions are small, but if you add in vegetables or a salad with low calorie dressing, you eat enough.

If you are just starting off with a diet and choose to do the Lean Cuisine diet, you can always eat 5-6 meals a day of Lean Cuisine because with each one being low calorie, you will still eat under 2000 calories a day, which is likely much lower than how much you eat now.

I'm starting my diet tomorrow, and I will likely go back to the Lean Cuisine diet. I will update this blog with my review of each frozen meal.

Wish me luck!

My Diet – An introduction and hopefully a new start

Well, here we go... yet again. Is this time the time? I'm 35 and have been trying to lose some weight since after college. Every diet in the past has failed, some have worked for a while, but I have always ended up going back to my old habits and usually regaining more weight than what I lost in the first place. I sit here on a Sunday night, watching a DVR of the Comedy Awards on Comedy Central, after just eating $45 worth of sushi with my wife, and a Magnum ice cream bar. Tomorrow is the day though. Tomorrow I start yet another diet and hope that this time is for real.

So how is now different?

The difference is this time I thought it would be a good idea to blog about it. I have this blog that I put up about 8 months ago as a place to talk about whatever, and I decided maybe I should create a new category and just talk about my diet. Maybe this will inspire me to lose weight? Maybe it'll inspire me to keep going? Time will tell, but hopefully by blogging about my weight loss challenges it might help me to see what temptations I have and hopefully to over come them.

So what are my temptations? You name it, and I love it. I tend to eat until I'm super full and can barely breathe. It's not good. I have severe sleep apnea and need to wear a CPAP machine at night to keep my oxygen level up and keep my wife from not being able to sleep because of my heavy snoring. I wear the same clothes week after week because I don't like to go shopping and get depressed that nothing really fits. I just tell people I don't care, but I do. The last couple of days I have been looking at my kids and telling myself how lucky and excited I am to be a part of their lives. However, if I want to be a part of their lives, I need to start taking care of myself. I know everyone says this, but I honestly care more about what gas I put in my car than what goes in my mouth. I can keep going, but if you're reading this you you probably know what I'm talking about.

I lose weight fast. Back in 2005 I lost 70 lbs in 2 months. I ate about 1000 calories a day. I felt great, even though I was going on what is pretty much a crash diet. I gained it all back after splurging one day, and then not being able to stop eating every thing in sight. I gained everything back within about two months as well.

Maybe that's my problem? Maybe I'm too hard core and can't sustain it. Maybe this time I will try and do it slower, but I can't help the mentality of "if i don't lose a pound a day, its not worth it". Weird. I'm either an extreme over eater or an extreme dieter. Why can't I be somewhere in the middle?

I'll update my blog with my weight loss journey and see how things go. I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning, but I'm probably, realistically, somewhere in the neighborhood of 320 lbs. I've never been this heavy.

Here's to yet another diet!

Bill O’Reilly Interviews Michael Moore

I have been watching Fox News lately, as I always try and understand both sides of the argument. Obviously Fox News is a conservative organization and many of their hosts, such as Bill O'Reilly are very strict conservatives. Bill O'Reilly tells it how he believes it is, and so it's very interesting when he interviews someone from the opposite view point that also tells it how he believes it is and has a big voice. Michael Moore, the outspoken liberal entertainer and activist, has reluctantly agreed to be interviewed by Bill O'Reilly. Reluctant is right... there's not much you can win here as most of the people who watch Bill O'Reilly believe and follow what he says, so any opposing viewpoint won't win anyone over. Michael Moore agreed to an interview but said it must be unedited (of course you need the commercials though), and then he would speak with him.

In the first video clip you will see how they start off talking about the war in Iraq. Michael Moore says that he believes George Bush lied to the American people and let them to a fake war based on a lie of weapons of mass destruction being somewhere in Iraq. Bill O'Reilly argues that George Bush didn't know, but rather he was misinformed, and says the governments of other countries such as Russia were saying that there were in fact weapons of mass destruction. See for yourself:

While I will never know if he did or did not lie, I do know that George Bush had a personal hate vendetta against Saddam Hussein because his father wasn't able to do anything about him.

I do like how they argued about the personal factor, of if it was their child being sent into war if they would act differently, but Michael Moore seemed to hesitate on sending himself into harms way to get the job done.

You gotta take Michael Moore at what he is though... he's an entertainer that made hundreds of millions from his films that have a certain view point, so why would he ever want to say that someone else might have a good opposing view point?

Here's part 2:

They continue the debate which I find pretty interesting. So what do you guys think? Who's right and who's wrong?

Obama’s Chrysler 300C for sale for one million

Don't buy any old 2005 Chrysler 300C when you can have the best! For a cool one million dollars (chump change in this economy) you can be driving behind the wheel of the 300C that drove Mr Obama up and down the streets of Chicago.

This car isn't for sale by Obama himself, because he already sold this car. It's owned by someone else now, and they are trying to sell it to capitalize on the name of the big man himself.

Obama put about 19,000 miles on the car, and it has 20,800 now according to the Ebay listing. So why did Obama sell the car in the first place? When you're running for President of the United States driving a gas guzzler, the only logical step would be to sell that for a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid.

Naked mole rat or penis with teeth?

Thank God I'm not a naked mole rat! Imagine being an animal that looks like a penis with teeth. Sure, if you were a naked mole rat then maybe you wouldn't know what a penis looked like and wouldn't care, but probably would wonder why everyone keeps taking pictures of you.
